Blue Makes Inroads with BMAT Baler Sales
A number of successes with the BMAT 44 full penetration semi-automatic baling press are already being reported by recently formed Blue Group company, Blue Machinery (Advanced Technologies) Limited. This compact yet powerful unit has already been installed at several locations round the UK, baling board, paper and plastics in a wide variety of applications for both growing and well-established recycling companies.
Global Recycling of North Shields is a newly formed recycling company and has taken a BMAT 44 baler from Blue to process commercial and retail packaging and paper waste for onward sale to mills and merchants. Currently producing around 70-80 tonnes of baled material per week, Global reports satisfaction with their new baler, which replaces two vertical machines, and which was chosen because of its compact dimensions and throughput potential. Global is expanding fast and looking for larger premises as their volumes increase.
Grundy's of Widnes is also comparatively new to waste recycling and has established this facility alongside the group's excavating, demolition, site clearance and skip hire activities. The company has purchased two BMAT 44 models from Blue to process plastics and cardboard as part of a new MRF installation. The balers are chute fed from the picking stations and, once again, the compact footprint of the BMAT 44 baler is proving to be ideal for this type of set-up, as they are installed where the bins would normally be sited beneath the MRF picking station.
KCM Metals and Skip Hire has built an MRF and Recycling Centre at their Rotherham premises. Their new BMAT 44 baler forms part of the MRF and is also baling a variety of plastics and cardboard. Once again, the semi-automatic operation and compact dimensions of the BMAT 44 are highly suitable for this type of operation.
Corbetts Farms, based in Atherstone, Warwickshire, is the latest recycling company to take delivery of a BMAT 44 baler from Blue and this was installed only last month (June). This particular machine is concentrating on processing a wide variety of plastic film and rigid plastics for onward sale and recycling.
The BMAT 44 full penetration semi-automatic baling press is a versatile machine, designed and built for low volume recycling applications of up to 2.5 tonnes per hour. Full ram penetration provides maximum available force on every stroke, producing a well compacted mill size bale which maximises transport space. Bale integrity is preserved through fully automated bale ejection and the inclusion of an automatic “portcullis” door. Additionally, easy-feed bale-wire guides simplify the manual bale tie operation and there is also an option for using twine if required. Bale density settings can be adjusted for input materials - board, paper or plastics - and there is photo cell start and a “bale ready” indicator. The BMAT 44 incorporates a fully replaceable progressive shear, which features shear face gripper teeth for optimum materials “presentation” and which is manufactured from B50 high-quality steel for a longer active wearpart working life. The loading hopper is a generous 2000mm X 1100mm and the finished bale averages 600kgs, with dimensions of 1000mm X 760mm X 1450mm. Cycle time on the BMAT 44 is, typically, only 55 seconds.
The BMAT 44 baling press features full PLC control with digital display, CAT 4 safety interlocks and a state-of-the-art system which monitors machine performance to maintain optimum consistency in bale production.
